Hi there readers. This is going to be a short post. I came across something fabulous today. I'm a long time subscriber to both Teen Vogue and Seventeen, even though i'm almost out of my teenage years. Both magazines offer something totally different, but influential to the youth that read them. So Teen Vogue kinda goes for the underground; the new music, the new fashion,...etc. Seventeen focuses more on attainable things for girls, not 175 million dollar Louis Vutton purses and Miu Miu sunglasses....(still nice things)...but Seventeen speaks to girls from middle class families. Something special of a spread was in the March issue that just arrived to my house today. "GIRL POWER". The spread names and discusses the 17 most powerful girls that are under 21! Seventeen really aims to cut these celebrities out of their stardom world and show the world the real mold that they fill....one of girls just like us. It's a great article, so definitely check it out! Comment and let me know what you think!

Travel Journalling

Hello there (: So I'm still on college break here at home. All my high school friends are back at their perspective colleges and I still have two more weeks. It's okay though, I've been interning twice a week in the city and going to workout class and also going to a community French learning class every Monday. So I'm not going crazy yet... Haha. One of the days I didn't have alot to do, I decided to FINALLY put together my artifacts from my travels to Europe over the past four years. The reason I kept procrastinating doing this was because I was apprehensive to glue down and give these cool things I collected a "permanent home" on the pages of this journal. Seeing them in a ziplock bag however, bothered me more. So I did it. I made myself a travel journal. For past travels and future travels around planet earth. It was a really fun project to do; to display everything. The best part was showing it to people...friends, family. I may even bring it back to school with me. So if you're somebody who absolutely LOVESSS to travel, I definitely recommend compiling your treasures to display and also to plan for future trips that you can document on pages. Again, a really cute and fun idea to drive away the winter blues and look forward to seeing the world (:

The cover is basically a compliation of places that I havent yet, but aspire to visit. Some of the pictures include Africa, Tokyo, New Zealand, Australia, India...but not limited to all the other countries not listed that I want to visit.

This first page is filled with stuff I collected from Paris back in 2011.
Metro tickets, receipts, a map of Paris, water bottle labels, Nutella wrappers...

The map of the Lovre is shown here, along with tickets, programs, and food wrappers.
On the opposite page, stamps from around the world are featured (I bought them in France), along with tickets to the Vatican museum and a ferry in Capri, Italy.

Full force into Italy. Maps, a rosary guide, prayer cards, and a card that states that the Pope blessed my gold necklace I brought home.

Postcards, packaging, and factual stuff I wrote in my journal.
Hotel receipt and brochure, and a card from the perfume factory.

RECEIPTS. Tickets. A granola bar wrapper. A guide to Japanese art in the Prado Museum.

A map. my ticket inside the cathedral in Cordoba. A 3D postcard of a flamenco dancer with a satin skirt. On the right side is my plane ticket, and another postcard from Madrid.

My placemat from a restaurant! and I taped a napkin there too :)

Finally, we have an assortment of my postcards and receipts. The one on the bottom left is my absolute favorite because it looks like somebody drew the whole thing with a feather pen dipped in black ink (:

I hope I inspired you to make a compilation of your own (:

Neck scarves and Head scarves for spring!

Hey, I know it's still January...but there's nothing like visualizing newly growing flower buds on branches, and dreaming about the sweet smell that the wonderful season of Spring brings. After all, we need something to get us out of these wintertime blues. I don't know about you, but I really think the calender should go from Christmas..straight to March. For a little post to brighten your spirits, I pulled some great and easy tricks out of my sleeve to achieve a sophisticated look with JUST A SIMPLE NECK SCARF.
Neck scarves are great. My favorite.
Heres some reasons why you have to be sporting your neck scarf this spring.
1. 60s vibe HELLLLLOO.

oh, and Joan Harris wears them. And shes super hawt.

2. Still keeping with the 60s, FUNCTIONALITY. Not only could you wear this pretty print draped around your neck, you could also wear it as a head scarf!

This ones a repro. I know, but still.
3. (Kinda related to #2 in the functionality aspect..) They can keep your neck warm without being bulky if theres a nice spring breeze. And for sunny days, they can prevent scalp sunburn if worn as a headscarf.

4. They can spice up a plain outfit without having to over-accessorize. Neck Scarves add a "pop" to the look.

Here's a little collage I put together (:

I hope you all have a lovely evening and continue daydreaming about the wonders of Spring. (:

Snowed in.

Snow, snow, and MORE SNOW! Hey guys, so I'm stuck at home today because the weatherman delivered his forecast, and it sure was correct! Although I can't go anywhere today, that doesn't mean that I can't look nice! I actually have a phone interview for an internship today! I'm a bit nervous...OKAY UNDERSTATEMENT IM REALLY NERVOUS. Being a fashionista, I figured that dressing up like I was going to an in-person interview would help with my confidence over the phone! Fingers crossed! This outfit is a little casual for an interview, but I still feel like I can grasp a lot of confidence from it. After all, I've always got Rosie the Riviter to channel my inner super woman. Modcloth...funky socks galore. Anyways, I hope you all have a lovely day and are able to channel your inner Rosie through whatever the day brings!

My sweater is from Forever 21, My skirt is BCBG Maxazria, hat is vintage, socks are from Modcloth, and shoes are from Francescas.

Olympia Le Tan SS14

Here's a little section from a paper I wrote post Paris Fashion Week about the Olympia Le Tan show! Throwback Tuesday? We'll go with that.

"On the runway in Paris, Olympia Le Tan took literal influence from a 50s sailor theme and translated it into her collection. Pleated circle skirts, bows, sailor uniform necklines, and traditional naval uniforms were some silhouettes. Featured in pink, white, baby blue, navy blue, and black and red, prints were plentiful. Just as in traditional nautical fashion, stripes were a statement in the spring collection.  Naval ranks, a tribal boat pattern on the belts, a pink and white book pattern, and graphic sailors were an extension of the prints used.  No sweaters were mixed in with the printed jackets and naval uniforms. On another note, how can we go without Olympia’s unique and fitting accessories? Also a popular handbag trend, mini embroidered doctors satchels dangled down the runway. Anchor earrings were a statement, and brought the viewers’ eye up to observe the retro chic hairstyles on all the models. The only thing I disliked about this collection was the fit of one of the model’s leather shorts and garters. The shorts were pulling away from the crotch too much and her legs were bulging out of the tops of the garters. Despite that one look, this was one of my favorite shows this season at Paris Fashion Week. I especially adored the runway setting next to a curved aquarium, which really brought home the “at sea” theme."

Instagrams of the Week

Hi Everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been able to put out decent quality posts this past week..I've been really busy with the holidays and finals at school! But Winter break starts this Friday, SO YAY! Just sharing with you some of the things I instagrammed (should be in the dictionary..) this week. Enjoy and have a great week..especially you college kids taking finals!

This is my absolute favorite holiday scent at Bath and Body Works. Hands down. It's light, sweet, and pepperminty! It also has a cotton candy twist to it if you like cotton candy..I bought this on Black Friday with two other mini's, but they always have awesome deals in B&B Works, so go on over and grab those holiday scents!

Pictured is my new Century 21 Shirt, which I realized is made of an awesome moisture wicking material!! ALSO pictured is my new Betsey Johnson collar necklace. Betsey always delivers. Again, these were birthday buys with my birthday money!

I went into the city yesterday with my mom to go see the Impractical Jokers tour (WHICH WAS HILARIOUS BTW) and I stopped in the Sanrio Store among the hustle and bustle of Times Square in December. It was really nasty out; blowing rain and cold....but I still had a ton of fun, and picked up a cute little Melody hat for the winter along with some puffy stickers! No matter how old you are, puffy stickers are always exciting...admit it.

Also in the city, my mom and I came across Michal Negrin, an international jewlery and accessories store with incredible finds. It was heaven. Go check out the website or visit a store near you! I know theres one in the Garden State Plaza Mall in NJ that I plan on visiting! Everything was waaaaay out of my price range, so I just ended up getting this clear phone case with  9 interchangeable sparkly backgrounds in it! Well worth $25!

I found this vintage Japanese children's storybook in an antique store today!
